Orthodontics and Invisalign Braces

Dr Mack Jafari’s practice now offers Invisalign and full service orthodontics.  If you’re an adult living with an imperfect smile, you may wish you had gotten braces when you were younger or remembered to wear your retainer. Now, though, you may think you’re stuck with however your smile appears. Fortunately, orthodontics is always an option, even for adults.  Dr Jafari’s practice can help you.

According to WebMD, the number of adults who opt for orthodontics to fix their dental issues is on the rise. Options range from the traditional metal versions we all remember as kids to newer models like Invisalign. The advantage of using this latter option is that they are far less conspicuous. As the name suggests, they’re meant to be nearly invisible.

However, like traditional braces, Invisaligns are meant to be kept in 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You’re only to take them out when you eat, brush or floss. Unlike the traditional type, though, Invisalign braces are supposed to be changed out every two to three weeks as your teeth straighten. Then a new version picks up where the last one left off to continue the progress.

At the moment, Invisalign braces are only for adults and teenagers. Children still need to use the traditional version.  Siamak Mack Jafari has a team of trained experts to help you. Learn more about the team and the background of Mack Jafari here.

For the most part, Invisalign braces probably seem like the easy choice. You get all the benefits of traditional braces without any of the embarrassment that comes from metal wires criss-crossing your teeth.

However, as WebMD is quick to point out, they may not be for everyone. People with severe issues, for example, will need the traditional form to get their teeth back into place, at least initially.

They also cost roughly 20% to 30% more than braces do. Though most dentists provide payment options as the price runs in the thousands of dollars range.

Lastly, the brackets that are used to hold clear braces in place can get stained from drinking dark liquids or smoking.

If you’re an adult who would like their dental alignment fixed, some form of braces may be right for you. Dr. Mack Jafari is waiting to speak with you about what that would entail. Whether traditional orthodontics or Invisalign braces are right, you can get the smile you deserve.
